I used to be considered very far left as well, with the political compass graph to back it up. I am also suddenly viewed as right-to-far-right by those I used to align with. Yet my political-compass-dot hasn't moved much, so I infer from this that it's the ideology itself that has shifted, and taken its blind supporters right along with it.
On the bright side, there are so many of us now we could almost build a new party.
We could indeed. The sad thing about all of it for me is that certain family and friends who have been captured by the woke mindset look at me as if I'm intolerant of marginalized groups. The problem is that the supposed advocacy on behalf of these groups strikes me as insincere and manipulative. And many who fall for this manipulation have such an arrogant and morally superior attitude that amounts to little more than virtue signaling.
